Melaka to Offer Free Entry to Attractions for Tourists Wearing Kebaya

Planning a cultural getaway to Melaka next year? Take note: the historic state is offering complimentary entry to several major attractions for tourists who wear the traditional Nyonya kebaya!

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Jusoh announced the unique initiative as part of the state’s strategy to preserve and celebrate its distinctive multicultural identity, particularly the heritage of the Peranakan Chinese and Chetti communities.

"Melaka is unique, and the decision to offer complimentary entries is done to honour the long history and rich heritage of these communities in our state," said Ab Rauf.

The complimentary entry package is slated to be introduced next year and will cover several popular spots, including Melaka Zoo and the Melaka River Cruise.

The Chief Minister noted that this initiative aligns with Melaka’s broader tourism goals to encourage visitors to not just observe, but actively experience, local traditions.
