Runway at Kuching International Airport Temporarily Closed Following Aircraft Incident

Flight operations at Kuching International Airport (KIA) have been temporarily suspended following an aircraft-related incident involving a Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM) aircraft earlier today.

The incident occurred at approximately 11.30am, prompting authorities to close the airport’s runway to facilitate the removal of the aircraft and conduct necessary clearing works. A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued, and the runway is expected to remain closed until 3.00pm.

All inbound and outbound flights during this period may be delayed or rescheduled. Passengers are strongly advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight status.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) will reopen the runway once it is declared safe for operations. Further announcements will be made by the airport once the situation is resolved.

Stay safe and stay tuned for more information!
