Being ranked second in Asia places Malaysia ahead of countries like Japan (17th) and South Korea (not in the top 20), reinforcing its position as a top travel destination for peace of mind. This comes at a strategic time as the country gears up for major international initiatives like ASEAN Malaysia 2025 and Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

Tan Sri Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar, Chief Secretary to the Government, applauded the ranking, noting that “Malaysia's consistent efforts in ensuring safety, both for its citizens and international visitors, are now being recognised on the world stage.”

With a solid infrastructure, welcoming communities, low crime rates, and responsive emergency services, Malaysia continues to appeal to global travellers, particularly those seeking culturally rich experiences without compromising on safety. From the vibrant streets of Kuala Lumpur to the tranquil beaches of Langkawi and the lush rainforests of Borneo, tourists can now explore the country with even more confidence.
