The long-awaited MATTA Fair returns! Malaysia’s biggest travel fair is being held at World Trade Centre (WTC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 2 – 4 Sep 2022 from 10am–9pm. Expect over a hundred booths offering discounts, deals, and guided tours in your dream destination within three exhibition halls (Halls 3-5). You can also find out more travel information from the various tourism organisations too!

A great big world of deals
Wherever you want to go next year, the MATTA Fair has got you covered. At Sabah Tourism Board, you can learn more about guided tours in famous travel spots like Kundasang and Sandakan. When you’re done, you can complete a survey to get a free gift. Similarly, you can go to Sarawak Tourism Board to learn more about Sibu, Kuching, and Miri. You might also catch a live performance with traditional Sarawakian folk instruments if you visit at the right time!
If you’ve always wanted to go to Langkawi, there are dedicated booths nearby. Stop by Dream Forest Langkawi’s booth if you want to know more about the interactive forest attraction that will be opening in Jan 2023 ! On the other hand, you can go a book a day of camping in Rex PUBG Camp that’s perfect for gamers in Perak.
If you want to stay within Kuala Lumpur’s boundaries, KL Hop On Hop Off is currently offering discounted tickets for both day and night tours. Menara KL (KL Tower) is also offering discounts on their tickets as well, as long as you buy them directly at their booth. You can also snag a staycation at Port Dickson with Thistle PD or Scapes Hotel in Genting Highlands.
Overseas travel deals
Now let’s move on to overseas travel. We’ve noticed that there are many booths providing more information on Muslim-friendly travel guides this year, including accommodation, attractions, and Halal restaurants. You can also find out more about travelling to your favourite destinations straight from the experts at Korea Tourism Organization, Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), and Taiwan Tourism Bureau.
At Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), you can research and start planning your travels in Japan. They’ve got lots of brochures on places like Kobe, Hiroshima, Okinawa, Kyoto, and more! Once you complete a survey, you can take home a free tumbler too!
Afterwards, head on over to Sendai/Tohoku’s booth in Hall 3 to learn more about Sendai, an underrated travel spot that’s known for beautiful winters. When you complete their survey and register for the Sendai/Tohoku membership program, you can take home a gift bag that comes with brochures and a Japanese masu box.
But if you want to go to Korea, there are booths dedicated to Jeju Island and Gangwon — the representatives on-site will recommend you the most famous attractions and guide you to completing a survey for a freebie! There’s also a VR skiing game you can indulge in if you’re up for the challenge! Better yet, you can wear a traditional Korean hanbok and pose with the travel organisation’s mascots!
