Jeju food list: 8 Jeju restaurants worth trying

1. Jejudang Bakery Café

Jejudang is hands down one of the prettiest cafes I have ever seen! It's huge, featuring a large variety of delicious sweet and savoury pastries, and an unobstructed view of the mountains. What I liked most here was the farmer's juice, peach bread, and matcha bread.

There were also a live band and a local market outside of the cafe, perfect for those who enjoy a bit of music or shopping with their coffee. In addition to the dazzling environment, the whole experience was unmatched, and it’s the kind of place you’ll find yourself wanting to return to again and again.

2. Acorns from the Forest

Where are my ladies and gentlemen who want clear skin and a slim body? Well, Acorns from the forest have got you! This restaurant in Jeju focuses solely on acorn-made dishes, from acorn jelly and acorn pancakes to rich acorn perilla soup! My personal favourite was the soup; it was so comforting. It’s also a fantastic option for vegetarian, vegan, and Muslim travellers.

3. Jeju Eomyeong Tonggalchi

Jeju Eomyeong Tonggalchi easily became my favourite food spot on the island. Famous for its grilled whole cutlassfish (tonggalchigui), this well-loved restaurant not only serves up flavourful dishes but also offers great service — the staff will even debone the fish for you at your table!

The tender, smoky fish goes perfectly with a bowl of rice and seaweed soup. I also really enjoyed the raw cutlassfish slices, which were incredibly fresh and not something you come across every day.

4. Neulbom Heukdwaeji

Can you say you’ve been to Jeju if you haven’t tried its iconic black pork? This island speciality is prized all over South Korea for its deeper flavour and juicier bite compared to regular pork. On our last night, we headed to Neulbom Heukdwaeji for charcoal-grilled black pork, and it totally lived up to the hype. Easily one of the most unforgettable meals of the trip!

TripZilla tip: My go-to combo? A wrap of grilled pork, rice, kimchi, and raw garlic in crisp lettuce — all in one bite. Highly recommend giving it a try!

5. The Wind (Baram Eschiunda)

If you’re looking for vegan, vegetarian, or Muslim-friendly food options in Jeju, The Wind (Baram Eschiunda) is a place I highly recommend. This cosy eatery offers Jeju-style bibimbap made entirely from fresh vegetables! And trust me, it’s far from boring. The variety of ingredients makes every bite flavourful and satisfying. Plus, you’ll be treated to a beautiful view of nature right from your seat. What’s not to love?

6. Cafe Del Moondo

If you're looking for a seaside cafe with unbeatable views, Café Del Moondo is a must-visit. Perched right by the Haemdok beach, this scenic cafe lets you sip your coffee while watching the waves. We came here for a break and ended up staying way longer than planned...the view was just that mesmerising! The drinks and desserts were decent, but let’s be honest, the real star here is the atmosphere. Come for the coffee, stay for the view (and the IG-worthy photos)!

7. Sunsuhan Dumebee (Sunsuhan Dumbi)

Craving something warm, hearty, and deeply comforting? Sunsuhan Dumebee is the place to be. This cosy spot in Jeju is best known for its sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew) and other tofu-based dishes, and trust me, they do it so well! I had the sundubu jjigae, and it was incredibly nourishing, with rich flavours and a silky texture that felt like a warm hug in a bowl. They sliced tofu with savoury kimchi was also very satisfying. It’s the perfect meal on a chilly or rainy Jeju day.

8. Bagdad Halal Jeju

Malaysian visiting Jeju and craving something familiar? Bagdad Halal Jeju will instantly make you feel at home. This Indian restaurant offers a variety of halal dishes, and the flavours definitely hit the spot. I especially loved the roti paired with lamb curry! It’s a comforting taste of home in the heart of Jeju, and a solid pick for Muslim travellers looking for a satisfying, halal-friendly meal.
